THIS PLACE //

During holidays I went to the Chateau La Coste. It is a vineyard located in the north of Aix-en-Provence. There is nothing around the place, except vines, art and architecture pieces. The Irish landowners develop an original concept to attract people on their property: they invite famous artists and architects to create a land-art work among the vines. The japonese architect Tadao Ando made the main building for the restaurant and the reception, whereas Jean Nouvel designed the vinification cellars. The modern architecture breaks up with the image of the bordelais vineyard and traditional buildings you can imagine in a such landscape. The country house of origin has still been preserved and you can sit on a small typical Provencal square. This place is like a huge open-air museum through the woods. A perfect week-end's escape!
